Egg hunt 2013........

 

 

Here we our minus momma mandy she was taken the pic, with empty baskets in hand it was time to head outside for the Easter egg hunt.

And she's off right out of the gate she spotted the first egg of many tucked neatly in a bush hid carefully by her momma.

Yet another atop the slide....

Ooooooo I see another.......move Barkley.

Sence when did the Easter bunny start putting eggs in the bushes?

Momma mandy put a couple different treats in the plastic eggs, a few Reese's , a couple fridge magnets, and........

Shredded cheese?...........whaaaaat momma your silly.....of course Malia did enjoy it also. Next year it looks as if two little ladies may be participating.

After(math)........

 

 

Well this Friday some family got together to help out the sister #4 and her hubby move the teachers things from her current now to be old place of employment to a resting spot(garage), before they make to her new classroom. She had quiet a few boxes and could use some assistance. After lending a hand the family which was present opted for a little grillen and chillin. Above is the host of the party relaxing around a toasty fire pit.

Here grandpa Anderson hangs out with Ella, or more like Ella hung on grandpas beard.

Poop chart.......

 

 

Malia has needed some motivation on achieving the completion of her potty training. She has her #1's down pat but her #2's needed a little work.

So momma mandy introduced(duced) the new and improved "Malia's PooPoo chart". Her reward being that after each #2 she would get a sticker and after accumulating 10 stickers she would be able to ride the bus. This is a desire of hers, so we decided we would take some local transportation (bus) and stop off at a ice cream shop and then ride it back.

 

As seen in the pic above this was a major success, heres were we stand or shall i say sit with the poopoo chart, daddy Dave suspects of a rationing of #2's in order to archive such an accumulation of stickers. Malia has pooped like she never has before. She doesn't even wear a diaper to bed at nap time anymore she holds her urges. This success makes momma Mandy and daddy Dave smile, looks like a bus trip is in the future works.

Light it up......

 

While working on the rental I looked in the closet o find this light socket but I couldn't find a switch in which to cut it on with?

After closer inspection, or more by accedent I noticed this button mounted in door frame. Shurly not.........a door activated light? But this house was built way back in the day .....I mean way back. This is pretty tech stuff for this house.

Sure enough after installing a light bulb, light was to be had. when ever you opened the door the light automatically comes on .....nice.

Rub a dub dub rubbing on that tub......

 

One of the last things to do on the rental is to clean and refinish the old cast iron tub. Here you can see the before pic with the cleaner of choice, and a securing pad.

 

Here's the tub after a scrub down it did get pretty clean but not clean enough. here it's taped off and ready to be refinished.

The refinishing kit I have read mixed reviews but well see what happens, you know how daddy Dave loves his spray paint.

Here's the finished product now I just have to wait for the cure time 72hrs-4days.

Spray painting.....

 

While working on the rental I try to watch unnecessary spending on supplies by reusing whats already there. Here's An example in the above pic you can see the old ceiling fan, not wanting to scrap a perfectly good dirty, nasty, sticky, cockroach infested fixture. I opted to use a little elbow grease.

 

 

And here we have the newly cleaned and spray painted ceiling fan. When the future tents stop by during a recent visit the said "nice you put in a new fan". This process had to de done too three more dirty fans they all turned out just as well, and saved me some green backs in the process.
