With all the nice weather we've been having down here in the Carolina's momma Mandy and Dave took the girls to the park for a picnic.
Daddy came home from work to find two princess running around the house. Daddy Dave was glad to see no prince around or even Seven drawfs to trip over. However Daddy Dave is found of the Rapunzel idea, it will be a while before they can grow their hair that long.
Daddy Dave took care of a lingering project he's been meaning to get to, here we have our old "plain jane" mailbox
And here is my lovely assistant Ella (Malia was homeschooling at the time), she rode down in the wheel barrow with the tools and goods.
And here we have the new improved mail box (artwork done by grandma Anderson), it's pretty snazzy and Has already received positive remarks from the neighbors.
With some of the left over scraps from the kitchen redo daddy Dave made a few extra cutting boards, one large enough to go over the stove top to provide additional tempary counter top. These were treated with a butcher block treatment, but they still have to be kept out of the dishwasher.
Here a pic of momma Mandy yesterday enjoying some eats at one of her fav spots (olive garden) on her birthday night. Happy birthday momma Mandy, mommas no longer in her twentys she broke the big 30 welcome to the club love.
With the love of popcorn growing in the house on lenmore it was time to step up in the cooking process. In the past we have been doing the whole popcorn in a pan(with a lid), now we have stepped into the future with this handy dandy popcorn maker.
Here the popcorn begins to fill the bowl as the butter on top starts to melt. In this pic Ella is eyeing up her sister thinking to herself you better not hog all the popcorn.
In our current layout of the kitchen there is a gap or abyss beside the stove. Often mr Barkley's ball gets into this abyss and he barks and barks till someone gets it. Daddy Dave had a plan for this area of lost space.
First framing out a base out of scrap 4x4's and 2x4's....
Then building a butcher block top to match existing counter tops and a front to match cabinets.
Once it was dry it was slid into place transforming the lost space into usable space, this will also keep Barkley's ball from getting lost.
Here's how the kitchen was left after working in a new spot for the dishwasher, but daddy Dave still needed to rebuild the base cabniets to the right of the dishwasher.
And here we have it the cabniets are complete.
Well here's where the project started, per momma Mandy's request daddy Dave was going to put in a machine from the future(dishwasher). But in the house on lenmore their was no previous machine so all the nessary hardware had to be ran. New electrical, drain line, water supply and rebuild the cabinets.
First daddy Dave started rebuilding the cabinets, once the desired spot was picked he removed a section of the old cabniets.
Once the new slot was roughed in...
The water line had to be hooked up as well as the drain line as seen above.
And before you know it momma Mandy had a dishwasher in a day......next daddy Dave has to finish rebuilding the cabniet beside the dishwasher.
Here Ella is showing off her brand new pair of big girl underware........momma Mandy is starting the transion from dipers to undies.
First Ella needs to sit on the potty untill she goes.......this may take a while so momma bribes her with some iPad time. Here she assumes the position.
Of course her big sis is not to be left out of the picture, she is of course Ella roll model, here Malia sits in her chair almost like a life guard that's fine as long as Ella dosent try and take a dip(toliet).
And of course it's was time to blow out the candles on the cake........
Here's a close up to the "Frozen" theme cake that her aunt made, it's chilling out in the fridge, not the freezer so the actual cake wasn't frozen that would be a cruel trick when it came time to cut the cake.
And a pic of ome of the young ones enjoying cake. Good times were had by all, thanks to all who stopped by and we missed those of you who couldn't make it.
As many of you know we have a bar height table are our residence, while the kitchen was under demolition momma Mandy had other plans for the old table.
After some internet searching(craigs list) momma Mandy picked up this round pedistal table. With space being in high demand a round table gives the illusion of more space.
Momma Mandy spiced up the plain old wood with a fresh coat of "radiant red"
So back to where we left off......."so "this" caused........
"That"........which in turn lend too........
"This"...........which caused.....
"That".................which led too.......
"This" ......... Which once cleaned up ended up like........
"That"...............not too bad for one night and a wild hair. The girls spent the evening with the Marshall's while momma Mandy and daddy Dave were slinging block.
