It's that time of year again, time to deface some pumpkins.....here the girls are gutting the squash.
It seems the girls enjoying playing with the guts and making a mess....more so than the carving.
Here's the final outcome, some hot cider was enjoyed by the soft glow of the pumpkins.
Momma Mandy and daddy Dave and some more family and friends participated in this years tough mudder event. Here we are pictured about halfway through. Everyone had a blast and goy a little muddy.
However everyone did not come through unscathed........
While going through the last obstical "electro shock therarapy" daddy Dave was knocked out but one of the jolts of electricty. This breif period of unconsciousness cause daddy Dave to land face first in the mud ......eyes open......when he came too he was blind(eyes full of mud...... I'm talking full of mud all up inside his eyeballs). After some coaching he blindly crawled his way through with only a couple more shocks but stayed conscious. After getting out of the obstical daddy Dave was led to the finish line completey blind, then was taken to the medical tent. After many eye flushing attempts and many Qtips in the eyes (too clear large clumps of mudd) daddy Dave's vision was cleared just enough to go home. Later more mud around the back of the eye worked its way back to the front so momma Mandy Qtipped daddy Dave's eyes for him just enough to go out for a well deserved hamburger. Daddy Dave is happy to report his eyesight is almost back to 100%
Still finishing up a handfull of items on the latest project, daddy Dave needed to install yet another handrail on the steps on this particular property.
I'll spare the step by step, being this is not the first time I've put these on a property and blogged about it. Here's the finished project complete with concrete. Daddy Dave chose the extra fast "quick Crete" being that there are some trouble makers in the neirborhood and daddy Dave didn't want the chance of all the leveling Of the post to go to waste.
Another smaller handrail was installed on the side of the porch . The quick Crete was said to set in 40min just enough time to finish up and get out of dodge before dark.
Momma Mandy and daddy Dave Took the girls too the pumpkin patch.
After picking out the keeper pumpkins theses ladies sat down at a small table to enjoy a apple cider sample.
Daddy Dave ended up turning into a waiter at the request of the girls, here daddy Dave takes their order.
Here is the new future spot for the now space less micro wave but first some modifications need to be made.
First the doors were replaced with a smaller set
Then a new shelf was built to accommodate the micro wave, some molding was add to please the eyes.
Next the power supply was relocated in the cabinet above.
And here we have the finish product(minus some paint)......
On a past visit to one of daddy Dave fav stores(habitat re-store) he ran across this jem and for a great price so he picked it up only to add another thing to the ever growing honey do list.
Here's the current kitchen set up, with no room for the recently purchased exhaust vent.............for now that is.
Then the existing cabinets removed and the exhuast vent hung in place.....".
Next the exhuast hole was cut and the molding trimmed.....
Some Pipe for the exhaust was hooked up and the wiring all finished and tied in.
Last the new/used exhuast vent was hung and secured and the exhuast pipe covering installed. Now we have a spiffy new exhuast vent but you may be asking yourself what happend to the microwave ? Stay tuned to find out more.
Malia requested use of a rake, she then Proceeded to rake a pile of leaves in the driveway. It's that time of year
Ella soon made her way and requested a turn at the rake. Although a pile of leaves can be fun to jump into, being on the concrete driveway may not be the ideal spot. However No new scraps were acquired.
Often while the girls are taking a bath Malia often scoops up the bubbles and puts them on Ellas head(against mom and dads request). Ellas dosent really seem to fond of her sister dressing her up with bath bubbles.
While working on the latest rental project daddy Dave decided to address the use of fluorescent lighting on this property. It seems that someone at one point or another decided to put fluorescent lighting in every room. This was not ideal so it was decided to change back to good old fashioned light bulbs.
This was fairly easy once the light housing was removed a new ceiling panel was put into place and a new light housing was installed. The change in light cut down on the humming sound which was emitted from the old lights.
On a recent visit to one on daddy Dave's fav places(habitat re-store), he picked up a sweet deal on a like new keyboard. I don't know who was happier daddy dave or the girls. Malia soon took over, selecting music from the playlist and dancing around the house while periodically playing a few strokes on the keys.
Ella was content lying around on the couch watching her crazy sis dance like no one was watching(all though everyone was).
Here's where we began....
Here's were we stand.......it cleaned up nicely but not with out a fair share of Paint and elbow grease.
In the beging there was maggots, roaches, and trash to be frank......
Now it seems like cleanliness has a fighting chance........thanks to all who have helped make this possible whether it was watching the rug rats or fighting off the cockroaches the help was much appreciated. Just a handfull of items left too do before paper work starts on some new tentets.
With so many pest on the latest rental project they become unavoidable and often become victims during the painting process(of which there is a lot of going on). Here daddy dave stops for a quick pick of the "Jackson Chameleon Cockroach" which seams to be sporting a new sports jacket.
Here is a pic of malia opening her first party invite(from two twin BOYS, she might not make it).......it took some help from the two boys to get the envelope open.
