The plan.........

Here's the plan, in order to reduce the time it takes for someone to steal a window unit I have designed a bracket built from 2x4's to help secure it to the window frame. This plan involves screwing the housing of the ac unit to a 2x4 frame. Then sliding this frame into a frame built on site that is the exact demotions of the window frame. Thus allowing the ac unit to be screwed into the window frame on three sides.

Here we have step one done, the ac housing is firmly screwed into a 2x4 bracket, this was done to two units a smaller one and the larger one pic above.

Ok now that we were on site when I measured the window, the framework I had all ready done was sufficient enough with the use of a couple filler pieces and some trim it screwed in nice and tight. Did ya notice the gangster lean of the unit( this name was given to the stance of the window unit by my extra set of helping hands brother in #4 I don't think the gangster lean comment came from the fact we were in the hood i think it just came out like that) this is to allow any condensation to drip off the back of the unit, not run down the wall and cause rot/mold( which was the case on the rental project Im currently working on). it was nice that the larger unit separated from it housing this made the install so much easier, after mounting the housing all we had left to do was slide in the guts and done.

Now the next window unit was smaller the planned extra farming was needed, here you can see the frame work

after placing some covers over the holes in the framing and some caulking it was done, screwed in tight as tight can be. Now all that's needed is a little paint. But untill then the renters can enjoy a little man made cool air. Ps I also cut spacers out of scrap 2x4's and blocked the opening of the windows any further from the outside, but still can be opened from the inside once you remove the blocks.

 

Mobile home?.......

 

The other day while daddy Dave was out hooking up the trailer for a trip out to do some mowing, he noticed a newly made birds nest.

the birds have decided to make a nest inside of the spare tire which is hung on the trailer, I guess it's kind of like a bird rv. The nest does look cozy, but might be a little windy though.

Closet con...

 

Here we have a pile of supplies needed for the building of the new closet in Malias new room. Bi-fold doors drywall and some 1x5's for trim work.

Here the frame work has been drywalled up, and ready to be trimmed out for the doors

here the doorway trim is installed, the bottom 2x4 removed and ready for the installation of the bifold doors.

and Walla here the bifold doors are hung, now the rest of trim work needs to be done, a bit of mudding, sanding, electrical and so on...........

 

Cold concrete..........

 

What's better than cold concrete after a lot of hot fast paced fetching.....not much maybe a cold drink of which Barkley has both.

the other day the Anderson's got together with the marshals for a little grilling at the park.

Do fairies wear diapers?........

Well the other day some storms were a brewing, during a pause of the storming momma mandy looked outside to see a rainbow, and snapped a pic.

and of course baby fairies were diapers they are just cleaned with the wave of a wand, and where is that wand when ya need it. Here Malia is wearing her own wings paired with some shades, and is pointing out the above rainbow.

Ol Dave why do you have a ac window unit hanging out of your window? I thought you just had a big ol new hvac unit put on your house, plus it's not even that hot out.......what a wuss you may say......but don't be so quick to judge.

here's an inside pick notice the couch pillows stuffed in the sides.... insulation daddy Dave says.....as momma mandy shakes her head. And by the way that cord is not very safe with little malia all about, but it's just for a short time anyway.

and the reason for the ac units is easy to explain. See one of or rental houses has no cental air so as a courtesy land lord I will be installing two window units, which I picked up for a still of a deal off ol craigslist. The cords had been cut, so I needed to replace..........easy enough. But to make sure they would preform I hooked them up and ran them for a while. Next I will be building a bracket to help make it a little harder to steal. But as a wise man once said you can't stop a thief, they want it they'll take it.

Closet planning.....

 

Here's the plan frame out drywall and trim.....but can it be done. I need to get this room finished up for malia so that we can ease her into a new room before the baby comes. Don't want her to feel as if she has to loose her room because of the new addition, instead she gets her own new big girl room. With tha safe bolted to the floor it's time to enclose it.

 

And here's how it turned out, now that the framings done off to that home improvement store to pick up some bifold doors and drywall.

Don't get your panties in a wad......

 

Often daddy Dave is given static about not wearing boxers, he often sticks to boxer briefs or the tried and true white e tight es, depending on the occasion. The above pic is reason #1, when wore with a pair of jeans/slacks they tend to ride up, before ya know it I'm wearing a thong. Not as comfortable as you may think. I didn't pull up the boxers just for the pic that is a actual ridden up pair of boxers, honey where's my boxer briefs.

Here we have a pic of how daddy Dave decided to cover that hole in the wall. Now a little filler and some paint. Next I have to frame out a closet in malias new bedroom.

Hole Filler...........

 

Here we have that new hole in the wall, it's been framed out........but still curios for the reason.

Well here is the hole filler, with daddy Dave's new projects he sometime has to do collections in relation to this he also plans on carrying some heat also, and needs a place to store when not in use. Somewhere to keep out of the ever so curios hands of children.

so why the new hole.......well when Davy cut the new opening for the safe, both electrical outlets(both rooms) were in the way. To make things easier when he went ahead and knocked out a small section of block and pre-drilled for wiring. Next thing left to do is trim work and a cleaver mechanism to hide the view of the safe...hmmmmmmmmm.

Well I guess it's safe to say..........

 

Well with the new addition on the horizon it's time to get Malias room together. What needs to be done you may ask well when ol daddy Dave remodeled the bathroom the closet was taken to add more room for the bathroom. So now ol Daley is going to frame out a new one before it too late.

so why do you have pics up of both sides of the wall? (This side is in the master bed room the other was malias new room to be). Well just framing out a closet would be to easy, so in order to make it even harder and more of a project I have decided to cut a hole in the wall............?

here we see that Dave has covered everything which he could, to help prevent dust from contaminating.......cutting into a concrete block wall is very dusty, and momma mandy keeps a clean house best to try and keep a wrap on things. Still wondering why I'm cutting a hole in the wall stay tuned my bloggers......

Happy birthday to you , happy birthday to you, happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuu, happy birthday to you. Here we have a pic of malia eating some pancakes the morning of her birthday. She's turned two so are the terrible twos around the corner, time will tell.

Mole patrol........

 

Here we have the latest and greatest mole patrol technology. What this Solar powered devise does is send out a vibration and noise/pitch which runs off the unwanted pest such as moles. Why do you need this devise you may ask, well you see over the past couple of years a mole or two has made our yard it's stomping grounds. After some research they seem to enjoy sweet roots, which may be a reason to getting no sweet potatoes, or baking potatoes from our garden, even though we had great above ground plant growth. I'm under suspicion that the mole ate them before we could harvest. But for now it sits among the tulips standing guarding the sweet tulip roots which squirrels along with moles also enjoy. I have heard good reviews on these devises, Not only is it animal cruel free but solar powered but well see(doesn't seam to bother Barkley as of now. mole patrol stand attention, about face, and salute. Do your duty to defend the plants booty, sir yes sir.

Ipad pro.......

 

Here we have a new generation of iPad professionals. As momma mandy and daddy Dave were scurrying about the house performing morning cleaning duties, Malia made herself at home on the couch with iPad in lap. She is very good at navigating around between her apps on the pad. Some time we catch her trying to buy new apps at least she doesn't have a password, or who knows what we'd end up with app wise and bill wise.

Signs of spring......

Just a couple pics of spring approaching from around the homestead. I forgot the name of this bush but it does bloom lots of tiny white flowers.
