"its like trying to make ice with hot water"................................

 yep that's right this fine grass cutting machine was only $1.98with tax(time and elbow grease was extra). and so the story begins

 so every day i pull up this slanting driveway, and about a week or two ago i started to notice that the grass was really greener on the other side. as you can see in the pic the neighbors grass was green just along the side of the driveway about a foot or two. and i also noticed a steady trickle of water coming from under their mail box, which did not go away. it ran down the street and evaporated into the pavement. so i mentioned this to the neighbor as to prepare him for what it could mean higher water bill, repairs etc. he said he hadn't check his basement in a while so down we went for a look.

when we went into the basement we took a trip to wet city. under closer inspection we saw that there was a leak spraying from where the ice machine connects to the hot water line of the water heater? why did they connect it to the hot line...this gives me a  new quote "its like trying to make ice with hot water". anyhow the neighbor asked me if id fix it and he would give a an old broke mower.......yes something else to fix i said ok. so the following morning i took a trip out the the home improvement store got the necessary parts $1.98 and got the job done. so here lies the story of the $1.98 lawnmower. which after a little work to get running will probable make it to sister#4 house as their new/used mower.

moving in?.........well no........you silly goose head, their not moving into the garage but of course they could if they wanted to, its big enough. me the ol lady and of course Malia, got together with sister #4 and hubby and helped them move to their new location. it was a quick decision figuring the day to move on, with no notice to other family members, so they all missed out on the fun(i think my draws are still wet). after a hot day (in the well in the 100dreds of degrees), and three flights of stairs later, we were successful in completing the move. now the unpacking is left up to them. welcome to your new home!

its official..............sister #4 and her hubby have just bought their first  new home . congrats heres a pic welcome to the world of projects and honey do list a mile long.

hopefully if you sit on a crack it wont break your mommas back.

little cleaner head............

cleaner head Malia is at it again. the other day while momma Mandy's brother was down visiting after the beach trip, and momma was away at work. Malia decided to pick up the sweeper and do a little cleaning. here she is hard at work....just look at those to lazy bums in the back ground(Barkley and brother #1). just lounging and laying around while Malia is hard at work :)

here is a pic of Malia hanging with the  never before seen Carolina Coast lockness monster, it looks friendly enough.

sun and sand....................

 here's a quick pic of Malia playing in the sun and the sand on vacation. she is on the sound side so there's no crashing waves to intimidate her. of course she has on sun screen, but it is mighty hot here. if you look in the back ground you can see shade coming to the rescue, a beach umbrella is on its way. along with her uncle #1 (on her mothers side).

sandy octopus.........

this was yet another one of my sand creations, its a sandy octopus, it has eight legs just like the real deal its just not in the ocean......yet.

kites that are out of sight.........but not out of sound.

this pic was taken on the sound side at the beach. here is a look at some kite boarders which cruised past our dock while vacationing. this was taking place at high tide, one of the boarders is in the reeds normally a dry area when its not a full tide. looks like fun something i would like to try in the future.

Malia found the beach chairs to her liking they were all down low so she could turn around a sit right down. she was so proud of herself, sitting in a big girls chair like the rest of us.

sand creation #1..................

 well while out out the beach i was just tooling around(shovel in hand)  and whipped up this sand castle or sand car you might say. you can only imagine the wise cracks i received. looks like your stuck in the sand, don't get a flat, how many sea horses under the hood? do you have to ware a seat belt on the beach? and etc

the car was four d, all four sides for d to see.

little girl and a big ol beach................ i guess the pic says it all. if you were wondering about the lapse in blogs its because a long week of vacation had fallen upon us. and so with the baby girl packed up and the house tightly locked up and of course with Mr Barkley under the careful eye of our neighbors, off we set for a relaxing beach trip. now that were back i will be glad to post a couple of classic pics from our trip. in this pic malia is sizing up the situation, sandcastle over there, towels over there, sun lotion here.......

buckle up.............

me and the family took a quick trip up to that rather corny state of Ohio(corn as far as the eye can see).with Malia growing rather steadily it was time for a new seat. she has now graduated to the front facing seat, we got this seat the night before we were to leave and installed it into its position for the upcoming trip.  well with malia now facing forward i guess the view has changed. not long into our trip, after a bottle and two long tunnels and a curvy road Malia had her first upchuck. our guess is she got car sick but no matter the reason it was very an unpleasant situation. this pic was taken during the acutual trip. i think the pic gives the reason for her uneasy stomach.......shes reading while traveling.......and for some, that will do it.
