Do it yourself Mohawk.........

What is this blog about you may ask Shirley not a Mohawk for daddy Dave?.......here we have daddy Dave as you know him. With an up coming race know as The Warrior Dash(no Tough Mudder), which is another hard core foot race daddy Dave decided to go extreme. With no time to go to a barber, and being a do it yourselfer daddy Dave came up with a fool proof do it yourself Mohawk (assistant required).

Use # 6489 for duck tape..........the guide lines are laid.

The clippers are out........

One half done.........

Both sides done.......next a little edging and trim work.

Walla............no he didn't..........yes he did.

And a final pic of the back, let the races begin, I wonder what my little lady will say when she sees me in the morning.

Bus ride!!!!!!!!!........

Well with all the pooping on the potty this big girls been doing we finally managed to squeeze in a well earned bus ride as she was promised. Here we are at the bus stop, this was the longest bus wait ever........"when's the bus coming?"........"is it on the way"..........."where's the bus?".

Finally .......here's a pic after we were aboard, Malia was super excited. As you look around the bus, all the riders were tired, and silent being most of them had just had a long hard day at work. Here is Malia hooting and hollering...........weeeeeeeeeee..............wohoooo.............wooooohooooooo. Everyone just looked at her, why is this girl so excited? They didn't know the accomplishment she had made to deserve this much anticipated bus ride.

After a stop at the mall for some ice cream(chocolate ), it was back to the bus stop atop daddy Dave's shoulders. This was the second longest bus wait ever................

On the ride back Malia rode on momma Mandy's lap, it's a prettier ride to say the least.

On the trip home we rode the whole route being our bus stop was near the end and the mall was at the start. Momma even let her pull the stop cord when our stop arrived, she had a blast. The bus driver said he was happy to see someone so excited about riding the bus, the driver was very pleasant. Thank you Malia! For doing your business where it needs to be done.

Ella and spaghetti .........

Pictured here Ella is trying to feed herself some spaghetti

I don't think she knows which end of the fork to use.

Finally she gives up trying to use the fork and goes in for the tried and true face plant. If you can't get the food to you, go to the food.

Ho Bo.........

At first glance it looks like someone left some empty boxes in our driveway, but why would they be left so neatly arranged. Then it hit me I think there is a ho Bo living in my driveway.

After closer inspection I see my oldest daughter has made this new box her home.

Day 4....

With more cabinets going up around the rental project, these still need to be cleaned being they are still covered in crack roach droppings. The muddying of the drywall also under way.

Bifold doors installed on the laundry room......

More cabinets and a exhaust vent for the dryer........

An external vent or the dryer was also needed.....

Day 3.......

The final pieces are coming together thanks to the hard work from some handy men. Trim work, cabinetry, and etc are almost done. With counter tops going into place the house is starting to look like a home.

The hot water lines are functioning minus the hot(being the water heater is not yet hooked up). They are pressure tested though and ready for action. Bathrooms in the house are functioning as is sinks and plumbing.

Trim work has been going up all around providing the finishing touches.

Day 2......

While the other two fellows were hard at work on other projects around the house daddy Dave was working on the pressurized plumbing. Here he has created a system of shut off valves to aid in future plumbing related projects/repairs.

Here the valves are up and running, this is just the cold lines so the hot water line control panel is next.....

And here's the start of the hot line control center.......

Do you know what's wrong with this door?............ No it's not the patch trim work in the top right corner it's something else........having trouble grasping the problem. Can't get a handle on whats wrong with the door in the pic?..........well being one to try and reuse old supplies, dad installed this left over door from a past closet tear out. The door is actually upside down, this was the simplest way to reinstall without extreme modifications. It still does the trick, you'd never known if I hadn't said anything. This was not a short cut by dad but a suggested short cut by daddy Dave, dad is particular about his wood work.

Rental Reno....day one

Well for those that didn't know my pops and brother in law are giving me a much needed had on the latest rental project. The amount of work being done is great as is the good company. Here dad is fixing an electrical problem which has stumped daddy Dave and the Natester, but was resolved in no time by dad, after some deliberating and problem solving.

All new drain lines were installed above.......

.............And below, now the pressure lines are next on the chopping block.

Dear sis.....

Now Ella let me tell you a few things about mom and dad. What ever you do don't make daddy spill his coffee on himself in the morning. And defiantly don't pull Barkley's tail , and as for momma no high shrill screaming. Just keep all this in mind, now crawl along and don't mess with my toys.

Birds nest.....

As of now Malia has control while playing with Ella, Ella is more just along for the ride for now. This fine morning Malia gathered up all the odds and ends of which were in the living room and made Ella her very own "baby's nest".

Ella was content for the time being she had access to an assortment of toys etc, but soon she discovered she couldn't roll over.

Fo got to go......

While out working on a rental it was time to put a first coat of paint on the walls, as you can see in the pics the walls have been done in a fo finish. This can look good but is is not a paint choice to have on a rental.

So with my paint sprayer in hand and some 5gallon buckets of paint, a late night of latex began. This house needed a first coat throughout the whole house. The sprayer makes quick work of this but can be a little messy.

This is a bonus room with a built in bar....which is to be removed.

First coat was applied to the wood paneling. Daddy Dave has some super help coming out to lend a hand on this project later this month. Four full days of slamming and jamming, so daddy is trying to get this messy spraying done so we can concentrate on the many other projects around this house.
