Here's what we were faced against, the last storm broke off a top branch which then was laying across others right above our power line. All it would take is a stiff breeze and down it would come down and probably out would go the power. So this needed to be addressed. This tree has been sickly and it's weak state probably contributed.
This was not the highlight of fathers day, the height of the ladder did result in a lot of swaying and uncomfortable movement. From this angle you can see the way the trunk is angled over the power line, the whole ,branch needed to be removed.
I started to cut smaller sections with the manual pole saw but this was taking forever so without thinking I grabbed the trusty ol stihl saw and headed up the ladder. About halfway up common sense over came my impationness and back to the pole saw I went. With a rope tied to the sections to be cut away I had two lovely assistants(momma Mandy's brothers) pulling to aid in preventing it from falling on the power line.
After toppling the limb on the power line was no longer a threat daddy Dave went back to the chainsaw and the finished project was quickly achieved. After the job was done daddy Dave was met with a delish meal of grilled hamburgers ah, prepared by his lovely wife.
