Litter box access .....

With the new addition our cat Zooey comes a new "honey do" list. The cats litter box is located in the laundry room so this door needs to be left open. The laundry room is heated and cooled along with the rest of the house(past blog) so leaving the door open is not a major issue. However it's nice keeping the smells and etc of a litter box out of the common areas.

So off goes the door and a outline is measured and marked on the door.

It's then cut out with a circular saw and a jig saw to get the corners, and some trim work goes on the inside.

Next some trim(recycled) work goes on the outside to give it a finished look........

Once it's painted and dry it's brought into the house for everyone(girls) to inspect.

Malia my be a tad too big to squeeze through.....

But for the the intended purpose it is just right. Daddy Dave still has the option of installing some flaps but for now well just let the cat/girls get used to it.

nice! I want to put one of these in our basement door. Plus, with Barks, this will keep him from digging for skooby snacks. :-D
