rental reno...........

 just slowly been working on the rental....... here's a pic of new vinyl going down in bathroom.

well it seems that time just wont slow down for ol davey and his wifey. in fact shortly their baby girl will be 1. well the ol doctors suggest  to wait till one year of age before giving them milk. well now Malia has started drinking whole milk, whats next oreos?

spring has sprung........

 

 well it seems that spring has started to peak its head out from under the covers of winter. here are just a couple picks of some of the local plants here on lenmore already enjoying the new found warmth.

  

hes back........ that ninja mouse............not for the weak of stomach

as i said in a past post -installation-of-itchsulation- i said to keep an eye out for more of that ninja mouse. well hes back, here he is showing his pride, being the proud patriotic mouse that he is. dressed all in black and sporting his ninja attire, he could doge an assortment of mouse traps but couldn't escape the dreadful poison. here he is at his last stand before he is put to rest. thanks for all the good times and my he rest in peace....(this mouse is the acutal mouse no impersonater here).

hey Davy doo why must you post such a Delicious sandwich pic on here?......... well for those who don't know me and the ol lady found the first week of meat free too easy. in fact easy as pie and not mince meat pie either. this pic is of a veggie hot sandwich, i believe it has asparagus, marinated artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, tomatoes, forgot the onions, provolone cheese then broiled add what every condiment you prefer and wala. it was delicious but i keep having visions of meat dancing through my head. we recently watched food inc. and Mandy really took a liking to it. well it seems that our little lady Malia seems to be recovering quite well as shes up to her usual antics.

garage cleanup under way........

well if i do say so myself that ol garage needs a little straighten up, with the piling up of projects, and with more projects on the horizon it has become increasingly difficult to keep track of my tools. there is no bigger aggravation knowing you have 5 tape measures, but you cant even find one. so a  little at a time(in between naps and spare moments) i have made my way to the garage to continue working on that much needed up keep.

this is a pre-sick Malia pic. she has started to show interest in a blankie. she hasn't picked her favorite one yet but she loves the soft fuzzy blankets. during naps and at bed time she sucks her thumb and snuggles her blanket.

no meat substitute...... but it will have to do........

here's a pis of our latest dinner adventure. well with the weather so nice out and such we decided what better time to grill out then now, but wait i thought you your going to be meat free for one week........? of course we are you silly goose, with all the non meat heads out there Harris teeter has quite a selection of vegetarian friendly products. this particular product actually looked good(greasy and meaty), so why not give it a shot. well i must say after you add a few grill marks it ...........its actual..............bearable. ate one for dinner and one for lunch the next day. i asked my wife if we should have boiled them i beer, she said no, I'm still not convinced.  i still miss the real thing.  so long for now i hope you have a tofurfic day:)

mommas baby drama.............

well i  guess it was bound to happen, with mom and dad working at such places of employment which expose them to a world of germs. first daddy Dave got sick, he mainly ran a fever and was full of aches and pains with the run time about 2-3days. momma Mandy had a can of Lysol attached to her hip, but even such a great germ killer is no match for the flu. last night my wife went and checked on the baby only to find her warm as a fresh hot cross bun. after a long night of worrying  Malia had a doctor appointment the next day. our fears were confirmed she was diagnosed with her first case of the flu type A:(. good thing she had her wonderful mother to baby her, no pun intended. doc said it can last for up to a week and to keep her hydrated. in this pic she had just gotten back from the doc and was drinking her first bottle of the day. hasn't been her usual self, but she still manages to make ya smile. god speed your recovery my sweet.

all in...except for her head.......

 well with the recent nice weather and all, oll Davy doo thought it might be good if he gets some leafs off the lawn well Malia was quick to give a hand. after we put a protective layer over her outfit she was off crawling around. and soon up to her head in leafs. at least they will cushion her .......fall.....lol

here she is helping push the leaves in a pile. the oll wifey is not in this pick but she was on the other end of the camera snapping memories and picking up rays.

lenmore dr and the three bears.......

 well as you all know the story of lenmore Dr and the three bears or do you  well ill cut to the chase.  here's a pic of that porridge that was just right and yep you guessed it it was all gone....

 and here's a pic of that chair that felt just right...but it was broke......

and here's a pic of the bed that felt just right...and had been slept in........ who would be sleeping in the guest bedroom......are mom and pops arguing(we wouldn't take to separate rooms anyhow)....no....... was the main bedroom under construction (like many times in the past?...no ......well then who in the heck slept in the spare bed room .....guest ...no.. OK so here's  the culprit... momma Mandy.  well with all this warm, weather you might think it would put a spring in oll Davey  step, bad news daddy Davey has started to feel under the weather(and not the summer weather, the fever, sore back weather). so momma Mandy opted to try and sleep in the spare room to help word off the passing of the viruses.(send out a little prayer for Malia)

be my valentine.........

here is a quick pic of Malia, on valentines day. here she is pictured with her v-day gift from her dad, its a balloon you might say(danger-zone)......but she was under the careful watch of her mother. of course it did pop eventually, but no tears.......yep shes gonna be a heart breaker(or balloon popper). yes she is in a valentines day out fit sent by her great grandmother.

yeah the old lady was like.... hey why don't you stir the fire some more so that there's a lot of sparks......if you enlarge the pic you can see the grimace on my face from the heat, the things i do for that lady(happy to report still have eyebrows).

were going out with a bang...........

 what better way to kick off no meat week , but with a burger. this pick will make your eyes, mouth,and soul water...i just drooled a little(onion,tomato,avocado,lettuce,bacon cheese,mayo, sesame seed bun, and don't forget the meat). well me the wife, sister #4 and brother in law #4 were original planning to go down and visit the parents and baby sis. mother had a big pulled barbecue pork dinner planned, but due to unseen circumstances the trip was canceled (hope ya get to filling better pops). well we decided to go ahead a make a night of it since were not usually off together. well Davy get out the grill and fired her up, yep we put on some delicious meat Patty's. no meat week starts the 12th so here we come.

and what is dinner with out a show? well out back i had a growing pill of yard debris, and scrap wood building up in the fire pit. just add a little gasoline...........well a lot of gasoline.........and ca-boom fire works. here's a pic of #4 sister and hubby toasting their front sides.

wheres the beef...................

that's a whole lot of cow for little ole Davey doo not to be having none. what do you mean by this you may ask well me and the old lady have decided not to eat meat for one week, not for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, i cant even drink a meat smoothie. why you may ask? has Davy lost his flipping mind? is he a vegetarian? a vegan? a veggiehollic? a knuckle head? nope well maybe he's a knuckle head. no reason, just for shits and giggles. if your thinking, i thought Davy loved the beef? well its not just beef its the whole nine yards chicken, fish, pork ostrich eye brows, yeah i know all the good stuff. so do you think Davy and his lovely assistant(wife) can do it? well keep tuned for a meattastic adventure. starting feb sat 12,and by the way I'm still soda free since 2011(and its been hard). and here is a cute baby pic for all you baby fanatics

in this clip momma Mandy is entertaining Malia. Malia has not learned to put the toys back in but she sure likes taking them out.

i got the power.........

just a quick pic of Malia celebrating, holding the distraction remote, whats this you may ask? well ya see Malia loves remotes, and when she gets a hold of one things seem to cut on, off, louder...etc. so while me and the ol lady were out at my favorite place for used home goods, habitat for humanity, i picked up two remotes (trickster dave, trickster dave). while we were in Ohio visiting the schallers for Christmas, they had a basket full of remotes and boy was she in heaven. we still pretend to use the fake remotes because of course she doesn't want them if your not using them. in the pic you can see the actual remote sitting on the arm of the couch.

terradactyl in training.......

the voice of the famed terradactyl or scientifically know as pterosaurs.  back in the day i used to make this loud shrill noise, a stocker buddy of mine(Luke) said it was the sound of the terradactyl. as i further my years of experience, this noise has been perfected, and it can get loud. the noise is not a scream but is actually an inhale of air. i  have yet to hear it duplicated, but I'm sure there are others out  there with the voice of the terradactyl. in this short clip Malia is practicing the noise between feedings. my voicing of the terradactyl is muted to protect malias young tender ears. don't know if they could handle the unmuted version.

she found the mirror and scale.......and so it begins....

/  if you looked close enough you would have noticed 3 things different, not counting the shower curtains being moved. 1st there is only one towel now, 2nd the rack to hold the shampoo and assortment of stuff is higher, and 3rd,  there was a bath toy slightly behind tub bottom right corner orangeish color in second pic its gone....... this was just a quick convenient changing of the location of the shampoo/stuff holder thing a ma bob. while me and the wife and girl were out i ran a cross this hanger thingey, after a few mods and a Little unhooking and rehooking walla.........now there's more room 4 those toasty long soapy bathes(pic not included),thank goodness some may say.

were do i sit?..............

 well with all the recent rain it has put a damper...ha ha get it,  with working on the rental . ya see its not so wise to to put your tools in the bed of your truck if its raining cats and dogs, you might set them in a poodle ha ha get it poodle not puddle....anyways...... so here's a pick of my truck packed full with many of the tools used in the renovating, out of the rain nice and dry.

 well one of the things to get done on the rental was to put down new linoleum this is a pic of the old, well the stove is in the way but you get the idea.

and here is the new, i had a great deal of help from sister #4 husband, guess he could be called brother in law #4. it was  challenging, trying to keep the linoleum in one piece, the room was wider than 12feet so it does have one extension. now i have to put down the trim and one more small piece in the bathroom.

who needs windex...not i......

i got "maliadex" its a new item coming to a retailer near you, and it wont sit on the shelf long(it will crawl off). forget that spray stuff in the bottle this product is much cuter. go GREEN, quit wasting paper towels wiping, let this product give your arm/elbow a rest, it does the work for ya. one small problem is it only works on lower areas, haven't worked out this small problem. this is a rare clip of the actual product in action (product is under patent #03082010).

ive been working on the rental all my live long days............

 yet another day spent at the rental 10 till 5, not too bad the old lady and i took off a couple days so she was at home watching the young en.  had to tweak a couple things and do some dry walling but that ain't new to me.

here's yet another pic of the water heater closet, when i replaced the flooring it took three layers of plywood to get to the right height.

more rental fun.........

 loose pex tubing probable not such a good idea. in this pic you can see both the hot and cold water lines are not attached to anything. this would not make for a good scenario, and could potential cause problems.

here you can see the pex tubing has been firmly anchored. using a couple pieces of galvanized piping for stability and installing a supporting 2x4. now time to check for leaks and close in the wall.
