Hold'em down........

What is the story behind the crudely draw stick figures? Is it a game of human pics up sticks? Or perhaps some Chinese calligraphy? No but I'll cut out the suspense and head straight to the story. The action all began at daddy Dave's place of work. First ill start off by telling you that my employer just recently upgraded to headsets for all employes, as a way to get more productivity and to give us a direct line of communication. The other evening while performing working duties I heard a broadcast over the headset calling a manger to the front because of a irate costomer.

I just so happend to be working on a front display table which gave me front row seats to the action to come. Apparently this costomer just so happend to be one of our local homeless guys which beg on the street in front of my work. They have been ran off multiple times by he police which doesn't seem to have any effect. Being that my place of buisness is right besides a ABC store, and some railroad tracks directly behind it seems to be prime breeding grounds for this type of rif-raf to congregate. I can not begin to count the number of times I've caught them heading out the front doors with a buggy of beer and some prime cuts.

Well this particular bum was irate because he didn't have enough change for cigarettes, I guess begging wasn't as fruitful as usual on this particular day. He began yelling and cursing everyone, as the manager arrived on the scene this just seemed to make him more irrate. As he gradually made his way to the exit he started making threats, the manger decided it was time to call the police. As he reached for his phone the homeless man swung and punched him in his head. Now I heard of dinner and a show but not work and a show, now I couldn't sit by and watch I had to get my bosses back. I see the manger start to throw punches back as they clash into one another. Time seemed to slow down as I leaped into action, my first thought was to get ride of my weapon. In my line of work we are issued a 8" knife, I didn't want this to come into the wrong hands during the struggle.

I tossed the knife off my person and atop a display which put it well out of reach. Now I had a display in between me and the action, so by the time I rounded the display the fighting couple had ended up in the entrance of the establishment. The manager had tackled him and was trying to restrain him. Well here comes super daddy Dave to the rescue and promptly helps pin him to the floor. Now all we had to do was wait.......the cops were called and I suddenly hear my headset busy with calls for assistance to the front of the store. I hear the repeatedly paging me telling me to come to the front, I push the talk button and replie "I would but I'm busy holding someone down right now", oh is the response and headset goes silent.

As we lay atop this man I can smell the aroma of alcohol, he is still irate but powerless to move so he's mutters threats and such. One of which I remember he says "Im a vet, why you gonna treat me like this", don't bring veterans into this fellow, evadenty you lost respect along the way. Soon the cops arrive on the scene with tazers drawn and a red light on glowing on the man chest. They tell him if he starts acting like a fool when we release him he's gonna get tazed. In the back of my mind I think please don't taze this fool before I let go cause I didn't bring a clean set of underware. As we release him he is soon cuffed, as I stand I'm made aware of a little old lady trying to push her way through everyone with a large buggy of grocerys.

The entrance has been closed to prevent people from getting in harms way. As I stop the buggy I tell the woman, "excuse me mamma you can't come through here" she looks at the man lying on the floor and says "because of him? I'm not scared of him ill kick Him in his head", I try to hold back my laughter and smile at her and say " I bet you would, but I'm still gonna need to to use the other exit". I bet that was one of those gun packing granny's you hear about, soon the man is cuffed and given a ride in the patrol car. I guess he'll have a warm place to sleep and a hot meal, so who really won here?
