Anderson christmas

The other night most of the Anderson clan gathered for the yearly gift exchange at uncle James and aunt Violets abode. Needless to say it was a full house with lots of cousins and chaos.

At home the next morning Malia and Ella started unpacking their gifts and spreading them around the house. Malia was quick to put on Ellas dress, as she pointed out that they need to share.

Back to work.....

With grass season at a lull it's crunch time to finish up the latest project. I left off when I exposed the decorating laundry room wall, This needed to be rebuilt.

Here we have the newly restored laundry room wall. There was some marrying and joining going on with the studs in this wall.

Afterwards a panel was cut and mounted as to allow future access, next up a little molding and some paint. On too the next thing on the ever growing list.

Decorate......

With the tree up but decorations had not been done that day , malia decided to take it upon herself and decorate the tree with some of her own belongings. Here she made use of her jump rope, dolls, stuffed animals, toys, cars, jewelry or anything in which would stay in the tree. Malia is ready for Christmas and wasn't about to let momma Mandy and daddy Dave's tiredness slow down decorating for the holidays.

Cold turkey........

Is your turkey cold? Well put a sweater on it................. a bacon sweater that is. This thanksgiving new meaning was given to the phrase "turkey bacon" However this version may not be as healthy.

This thanksgiving momma Mandy, daddy Dave and the girls had dinner at the Marshall's, the turkey was fitted with as uncle joel called it a bacon sweater. Do you like turkey skin .....yeah me too, well imagine turkey skin covered in crisp bacon........o yeah it was good. One more thing to add to the list of things to be thankful for.

Chip.....

Earlier this summer daddy Dave was cruising along and an rock kissed his windshield, this is the damage it caused. It was time to address this so to prevent further cracking, so daddy Dave picked up this fix-it kit from a local auto store.

First step was to clean the chip then attach the base over the spot.

Then an adhesive was put into the base and a suringe inserted and pulled out to cause a suction and draw out air from the cracks and crevices.

After a wait the suringe was pushed in to put pressure and squeeze the adhisive back into the crack now free of air.

After a longer wait the suringe was removed, a few more drops of adhesive added and a cover(provided) over the spot untill further dry time was achived.

Afterwards the patch was scraped and cleaned and tada. The spot is still visible but no where near what it used to be. With all the rise and fall in temps this winter hopefully this will prohibit further cracks from developing

Sweet girl?......

What would make such a sweet girl so mad? In this pic Ella is fumming mad, peed off why is she so mad you may ask.

Well as momma Mandy and daddy Dave were making up some dinner Ella was quiet, and as most parents know when your kids are quiet their up to something (most likely no good as was the case here). It seems that the girls trick or treat candy was left down with in reach and Ella helped herself to a handfull of suckers. Not one, two or three but 5. It seems she has gotten quiet good at open suckers, she had an assortant of flavors.

To help aid in space in the girls room(per request momma Mandy) some cheap bunk beds were picked up off "Craig's list". The girls love the new sleeping arrangements, Ella is no longer in a crib, free to roam.

Here momma Mandy reads them a bedtime book before bed

Here's the final outcome, some hot cider was enjoyed by the soft glow of the pumpkins.

Tough mudder.......

Momma Mandy and daddy Dave and some more family and friends participated in this years tough mudder event. Here we are pictured about halfway through. Everyone had a blast and goy a little muddy.

However everyone did not come through unscathed........

While going through the last obstical "electro shock therarapy" daddy Dave was knocked out but one of the jolts of electricty. This breif period of unconsciousness cause daddy Dave to land face first in the mud ......eyes open......when he came too he was blind(eyes full of mud...... I'm talking full of mud all up inside his eyeballs). After some coaching he blindly crawled his way through with only a couple more shocks but stayed conscious. After getting out of the obstical daddy Dave was led to the finish line completey blind, then was taken to the medical tent. After many eye flushing attempts and many Qtips in the eyes (too clear large clumps of mudd) daddy Dave's vision was cleared just enough to go home. Later more mud around the back of the eye worked its way back to the front so momma Mandy Qtipped daddy Dave's eyes for him just enough to go out for a well deserved hamburger. Daddy Dave is happy to report his eyesight is almost back to 100%

Hand hold.....

Still finishing up a handfull of items on the latest project, daddy Dave needed to install yet another handrail on the steps on this particular property.

I'll spare the step by step, being this is not the first time I've put these on a property and blogged about it. Here's the finished project complete with concrete. Daddy Dave chose the extra fast "quick Crete" being that there are some trouble makers in the neirborhood and daddy Dave didn't want the chance of all the leveling Of the post to go to waste.

Another smaller handrail was installed on the side of the porch . The quick Crete was said to set in 40min just enough time to finish up and get out of dodge before dark.
