cheerio 4 malia..........

this is a clip of Malia feeding herself a cheerio it takes her a little while cause the cheerio is further back in her fingers but not to be a spoiler she does get it............she is getting much better at this and we now have to keep an extra eye on her, so she doesn't pick up stuff off the floor. that means beside the 2 our my face we have evolved and now have 2 on the back of our heads. o what nice eyes you have..... the better to see you with my pretty.

shut that door...........

 well as time goes by and the days grow colder and Malia gets older, this old house is still settling. recently the side door going into the laundry room has became a little troublesome while trying to close. upon closer inspection there was already a couple carvings into the framing making a simple adjustment not so simple. the holes for the lock were to close to the edge. so handy dandy dave wiped up a scheme to get the ol door back on track. 1st i found a extra 1/4thick strip of 1-1\2wide inch steel scrap. after some mods, 4 predrilled screw holes  with sunken screw head divots and a notch. i was ready for a frame modification. this pic shows the replacement piece  and the area which  needs to be removed marked with x'es.

well i guess i could kick it  old school with a hammer and chisel...........but its time for a little new school. here is that new tool which was used when doing the plunge cutting while working on the hallway floor. this high rpm vibration tool can make the job go a little easier. here's a pic of it making quick work out of this frame modification.(Malia was taking a nap during this whole process)

well with the new piece installed and of course a coat of spray paint(rustoleum) and the old hardware put back on, walla back in action....... don't let the door hit ya were the good lord  split ya.

geco no moe............

bet you wont be saving money on your car insurance now....this poor little fellow we shall call him Moe. well ol Moe did not outlast the brutal cold weather we've been having. here he was frozen in his tracks, hanging out in the garage on some old 2x4's.  pic is not for the weak of heart(died of natural causes).

that aint your mommas log splitter......

that ain't your mommas log splitter......... nope well in fact its my dads. well since me and the ol lady were both off work it was time to add some more firewood to the collection(hard to do when on baby duty). i had a uncut pile sitting around so it was time to cut it up and split it.  well this pic is of the aftermath, and needless to say i had a ton(pun intended) of help from pops log splitter, actual 35tons worth.

 yep were gonna try and be a little more green. not because of all the hype, not cause its the "cool" thing to do, and not cause someone told us too, but because its just the right thing to do. well with one well placed phone call made by that wifey of mine, the generous city dropped off our new/used recycle bin(now we just have to fill it). so now to help save water daddy Dave has decided to quit taking showers/baths.......... lets see how long moma mandy can stand it, only Barkley baths allowed(just a dirty joke 4 ya).

well Mr. poops does get a little stinky from time to time so periodical he needs a bath. hes not the fondest of this process but its better than the alternative option, a hose bath outside, so he copes. in this pic Malia is watch  Barkley getting his bath, Barkley was not to comfortable with this sense he is naked, but Malia insisted on hanging out with the fellows.

up ,up, and away.......

well it seems to me that the garage is getting over ran with unfinished projects and project extras, or things for upcoming projects so it time for a little winter cleaning. first thing on list was to build something to get my truck bed cover up, up, up and out of the way. while its not in use it takes up a lot of  space. in this pic i have recruited baby girl to give me a hand. this was her first time in the play pen as a playpen not a sleeper(she wasn't to happy about it either). but the weather was nice so no time like the present, before the dreaded cold comes back. you can see the truck bed cover in this pic its sitting on the drywall lift(red,this tool comes into play later).

here is the finished product. i built to brackets to hang from the ceiling one is fixed and the other is in a pin swinging/hing type of contraption. so that when the cover is lifted one side can swing out and back up under for support. if you look closer at the pic you can see the pin(all of this project was done with 100% recycled products, all came from the bathroom reno). i used the drywall lift to raise into position, making it a one man job. and wala, now on to all the other stuff.

this is a little video of Malia showing off her new found trick, clapping. here she is full of claps and at one point forgets to clap with her other hand and does a patented one hand clap. yep you'll see it here first the "One Handed Clap". she also is new to the waving, shes being a little stingey with her waves in this clip but she gives one last goodbye wave as she signs off after some perswading from her mother.

extravaganza con agian and agian...........

well the giving hit a road block sense sister #6 person was Sister #5 and she was out of town(Germany). so sister #5 had brother #1 and had already sent the gift. here is brother #1 trying to open his gift after he already opened it. it took 5-10 min because instructions were not written for dumos(dumb ass). but it is super nice thanks guys.

a gift was also included for wifey and baby here she is sporting that little red dress.

well brother #1 had sister #2 the last but not least person in the gift exchange. here she is leafing through one of her gifts(pun not intended, was a book on trees and leafs). well it was grand fun for all and I'm already looking forward to next year, who knows what/where we'll all be  ............

well needles to say brother #2 had sister #1 and her beau. here they are in this pic promoting campfire mess kits just one of their gifts.

and sister #1 had the baby sis #6(not much of a baby any more). she was gifted with an assortment of books and literature.

 next up on the gifting extravaganza was of course sister #3 had sister #4 her she is pictured with one of her gifts some type of shawl jacket thingy, here she is posing giving the thumbs up.

and so sister #4 had brother #2(scholar son), here he is starting the journey of opening his gift(there was a process, gift inside of gift, inside of gift, etc..) why Brother #2 what a large package you have there....lol

gift giving extravaganza.............

so after a Delicious lunch and a little time to let the food settle in as in the pic above. it was time to let the name drawing gift giving extravaganza to begin.

first up rose dabbled out a few gifts for everyone nicely decorated(hand painted) letters of the first letter of every ones name. we briefly tried to see how many words we could spell out with the existing letters.

then sister #2 started and she had sister #3 and her beau. here they are opening a few gifts......... more gift exchanging to come keep in tune.

christmas in january................

 if you didn't know, the Anderson clan meets after  the traditional DEC 25th so that all the family can get together and enjoy each others company and do a gift exchange. this works out well sense everyone is so busy Christmas week, seeing other family, Friends and etc. these two pics are of the Delicious luncheon which was prepared courtesy of many. this pic is of the grown ups table. all siblings were able to come except that #5 sister but she has an excusable absence(shes in Germany, serving the red white and blue. we missed you!)

old maila hubberd........

old maila hubbard went to the cupboard to pull out some pot and pans. with pots everywhere, and no time to spare, mother had pulled out her hair.

here's a video of Malia looking outside, her mother is working on the dishes and her dad was out shoveling the drive. she had her mouth on the glass swirling her tongue around but of course stopped when i got out the camera, but anyway enjoy.

grillin in the snow............just looks like a cold cut..........

don't let the pic fool ya, it might be cold but that ain't no cold cut on the grill. nope its nothing but a top choice ground sirloin hamburger meat. patted to perfection seasoned with a little ranch and a assortment of spices. cooked evenly above propane heat so you can taste the heat not the meat. as the juices coward within as to moisten every bite as it dances across you taste buds. did i mention that i love burgers.......so much that i have written a little poem, like to read it well hear it is.........  If i could be anything what would i be... id be a Burger of course ya see. a burgers life is grand indeed, topped with a bun with sesame seed. the patty may come from a cow not a chick, may not be as healthy but too your ribs it will stick. add what you like from bacon to fish, no matter the condiment still a tasty dish. cooked on a grill or fried in a pan, taste like nothing that comes from a can. , just add heat, gas, electric, or coal, just get the job done its food for the soul. eat a burger for breakfast, lunch or dinner, heck all three meals of the day and still a winner. id eat a burger on the fourth of July, id trade a burger for one of my eyes. id even eat a burger, buff in the snow. id love a burger........why thank you Joe.

3-whelling with malia............

me, my trusty ol wife, Mr poops, and Malia all went to the park the day of the "WINTER STORM OF 2011."  sense mother wouldn't let Malia ride in the sled we took her jogging stroller. here is a video of Malia driving like a maniac, she even pops a wheelie  at the end! reckless...... these young wiper snappers.

what might one do with a sled, a strap and a infant car seat you may ask? well me and the wife were going out for a stroll and a light went off in my head(not always a good thing). what better way for Malia to get around than in a sled! so with a little rigging minus the duct tape i constructed this nifty vehicle.

 needless to say mother was not as thrilled as i was and this contraption stayed at the house. i did suggest we hook up Barkley  to the sled, but mother was having none of that............FYI .....patent pending.

the day of the big snow i shoveled the drive but strategically left a strip for a little sledding. here's a pic of me in mid sled, just had to be sure there were no cars coming or later the snow cream would taste funny. I'm happy to report there was no consumption of yellow snow but Barkley sure made his fair share.

staring malia.... in the movie A Christmas Story.........

now Malia go upstairs and put on that gift  your aunt gave you..........aww do i have to............this is not really a pic from the movie but with Malia in this getup reminded me of it. we were fixing to go out for a run so i was making sure she would be bundled up, toasty mostey.

 here's just a couple pics of some more work on the rental prop. i finished up the last of the plumbing....yep i shook the dew off the Lilly and was able to flush it, the neighbors might appreciate that. this pic once again shows the simplicity of plumbing with pex.

this is a pic from one of the bedrooms, the one that butts up against the bathroom. i cut out a section of the drywall to expose the plumbing so that i could go ahead and replace the sections going threw the floor. if was not leaking that i know of but now 100% of the plumbing has been done. i would hate to have a renter in and then have to fix the plumbing behind the wall, go ahead and feed the chicken before it hatches?

ok lets make a deal.....

OK this is the deal no more veggies, cold dipper wipes or dipper changes. no more early to bed nights or naps. no more Barkley licks, no more bathes or smiling when i throw a fit.  instead i want ice cream, koolaid, extra play time,  a new dog which i am bigger than and cant run away, and did i say ice cream?

malia wanna play..........

this is a video clip of Malia just messing around with a golf ball. her mother had turned on one of her new toys which is technologically advanced. it hooks to the computer and will say her name, favorite pet, etc and interact with her. in this clip Malia is not playing with it but before it cuts off it asks her if she wants to play...you should see her face light up...enjoy

two lips are not just for kissing.......

i don't think you would get much satisfaction from kissing these tulips. while at work the other day they were getting ready to throw out some past bloomed tulips. well knowing that they are perennials and have a bulb you can plant i decided it would be worth a shot to drop them in the soil. so for a cheap price i picked them up. her is a pic of the spot i picked to plant them and you can see the potted tulips in banana boxes.

here's the tulips set out in their designated spots, i got 18 pots with 6 bulbs to a pot. while standing in line a little old lady inquired as to what i was going to do with these tulips. i said i was going to try and plant them, she then let me know that she was a Master Gardener, and that this move was brave but would be well worth it if they took. she then told me to bury them about 3-4 inches and to mulch them to help protect them from the cold. i didn't not know if i should cut them down or leave the tops exposed? anyone out there with incite i would be obliged if you would enlighten me.

here they are separated and in there place, as you can see it was getting dark, so i mulched them with leaves(which i had plenty of with it being fall and all), and called it a night. rain was in the forecast for the next day so i figured id let mother nature do what it does best.

 here is a pick of that scholar brother of mine sipping on a nice refreshing carbonated beverage(i quit drinking soda, well see how long i can hold out), man it sure looked delish. well here we are in the middle of a radio swap out. taking out his factory and replacing with a new Cd player i had bought for my wife's car but we then bought a new car and it didn't need a radio. so instead of it collecting dust i figured it could play some tunes. let me be the one to introduce ya to Roxane(bros chosen name for her, he just hopes she doesn't put on the red light), this is his first ride..... man i remember those days.

this is a pick of the cutting and splicing of the wire harness its ready for hookup. I've done this a few times so i guess you could say I've been around the ol block. hope Joel doesn't take a turn and his car catch on fire(actually happened to me). we had to take a pause while bro had to run to Wally world and pick up an antenna adapter.

the famed "thurmanater"...as seen on tv............

 love at first sight, if you do not know by now Mr. Anderson's favorite food would be the hamburger. well one day back at the homestead on lenmore, while he and his sweetie were watching the food net work a show called man vs. food this burger was featured as a top pick eats. it can be found at Thurman's cafe, in Columbus, in the German Village sector. now being the burger man that i am and us being in the right state at the right time we figured lets do it, lets see what Mr. Thurman is all about.......Burger will appear larger when on your plate.

 well after a hour and a half wait(actual a slow night for Thurman's (the wait can be up to 4 hours wait time on a busy evening) and with Malia behaving herself as usual, we were finally seated. my selection out of the lineup of burgers was of course the "thurmanater" the ultimate out of ultimates, the big daddy of them all and i was gonna make it my bitc@$h. this pic is just before the showdown began, notice the empty look in his eyes and the watering of his saliva glands........lets get it on.......

who's your daddy........ that's right i am and next time tell therm to bring a Friend. its rumored that if you finish it all your meal is free (found out its just a rumor). and don't fret those fries didn't get wasted most of them joined a  thurmanater  in the dark depths of my gut. this Burger was so big it had to be eaten in sections. good times and good eats

 next stop was too Mandy's grandparents the schallers (her fathers side). this pic is of some of the locals there. these locals were out for a afternoon stroll looking for some grub, in their back yard.
