What Kohler is it?.....

 

The Kohler of Chrome of course......well while out at one of my favorite places (habitat) I stumbled across this vanity sink and hardware. I just new momma mandy would like the hardware also so I picked it up and brought it on home and added it to the pile of projects in the garage.

Well the other morning I decided to go ahead and switch out hardware(spout) I just needed a couple of adapters so after a quick trip to the home improvement store I was home to begin. Truth be told had to make two trips because I picked up the wrong size.....Dang! Here's a pic of the old hardware.

here we have both sink spouts out and the new one ready to be installed. Malia insisted on helping, she doesn't seem to ever take that hat off, here she has it on backwards I think it makes her go faster.

Here it is installed and ready for momma Mandy's approval she hasn't seen it yet, but will in no time cause she's constantly making trips to the ladies room(prego).

Amateur soda drinker....

 

Here we have an delicious beverage which looks to have been a past, pleasant, drinking pleasure, but was it really? Under closer scrutiny I will point out the signs of a amateur soda drinker.

first I might add when the can was picked up there was still a little weight to it(not properly drained). Second when you take a closer look at the tab it wasn't even properly opened, as you can see the tab is just cracked not allowing proper beverage flowage. A tall tale sign of a amateur drinker.

here is another canned beverage which was enjoyed around the same time, same occasion. Here we can clearly see the proper clearance of the tab. Maxium clearance allows for Maxium enjoyment. it was also empty, drained from all it's contents as if a soda thirsty vampire punctured the top and drain it of its life fluids. I will not point out or name the beverage drinkers for they know who they are but will point out that I was not one of the consumers, for I am soda free untill Malias birthday party.......stay strong...stay strong.

Jelly beans new photos........

 

The other day me and my child's mother went to the doctor for a viewing of the new addition to the family "jelly bean". Here are a couple pics for your viewing pleasure.........let the gender guessing games begin:). Here the little jelly bean seems to be shying away from the camera.

and here jelly bean seems to be putting up his/her legs up agianst his/her chest to push out for more leverage ........"momma give me some room". It does look a little cramped in there.

Before the kitchen tare out

Where it stands now, the other day I had some very helpful assistance from brother in law #4. We hung the upper cabinets and set the lowers in place, along with some other tasks in which another set of hands was appreciated. The bottom cabinets are new/used and the uppers are original but still need a good cleaning and a thick coat of paint as does the whole house.

 

 

Venting......

Well while out working on the latest rental project I needed to run new venting for the kitchen and laundry room. I had removed the old plumbing which was galvanized piping. Well when I went up to the roof to drop down the new 2" piping I found that the existing hole was to small. Not having the proper materials at this time I was forced to improvise.

Here I made several cuts with the saws all.

then I took a hammer and bent the cut sections down

then dropped the new PVC down and slide the new roofing boot down, all that's left is a little roofing caulk and some roofing nails.

 

It's a wrap.....

After rebuilding the swing set support with some fresh treated lumber and the transferring all the hardware the A frames we're ready to be attached.

 then after rebuilding this rocking swing sea -saw type thing, it was time to hang the swings.

 and Walla the swing set is done all that's left is a pressure wash and maybe a fresh coat of sealant and possible change out the rope on the rocking swing, but it's go time now.

Swing set under Reno.........

Here we have pictured some supplies which daddy Dave picked up at that home improvement store. He spared no expense and went ahead and got the treated stuff being it will stay out in the weather. He was gonna go all out and do a shingle roof but after pricing supplies he decided against it would have added another $90, ah no. So he went to look at the tarps and the colorful tarps designed for play sets were $25 plus tax, he found it hard to pay this being that it would just tare up in no time and would then have to buy another. So what to do, a tin roof crossed his mind but after weighing the pros and cons the cons outweighed the pros(little children could reach up and cut them selves,and it would rust and require paint to protect. But while in the tin section he came across PVC roofing this didn't have sharp edges and would hold up better than a tarp,  why not give it a shot. He picked out two colors so he could have a colorful roof.

 and the sheathing is being applied.

 next new railing was added to help keep the little bumpty from falling as easy. Next up daddy Dave is going to rebuild the swing set portion.

How to clean a dirty slide........

 

 She just couldn't wait till the job was done, before we knew it she was climbing up the tower on a mission to get to the slide.

 daddy Dave just barly got the slide attached before she was up at the top ready to go.

 Here's you get a view of  her dirty bottom as she climbs back to the top for another slide. Neather daddy or momma has had a chance to wipe down the slide so it had a little weather on it, nothing a little bottom wipe won't take care of, no toilet paper needed.

Bubbles for all......

 Well the past couple of winter weeks have been mild but it does seem that now winter is upon us. While daddy Dave was working on the swing set momma mandy  entertains the little one. Here they are blowing bubbles. wonder if it was cold enough would they freeze?

 here Malia is running around chasing and popping the bubbles momma is creating, some time I wonder who is having the most fun (I suspect it may not be Malia).

1, 2 or three.........

 

 Here we have three leftover plates from a dinner of dinning in. momma bear, baby bear and daddy bears plates were set on the floor while Barkley was told to sit. the ingredients on the plate consisted of some leftover chicken, green beans and mashed potatoes. Which plate did Mr ol Barkley head to first?............

 Well of course he went to the plate with the most goodies, momma bears leftovers.

Breakfast for din.......

 The other evening sister4 and her hubby treated us to a tasty breakfast for dinner. Here we have pancakes, livermush, bacon, eggs with cheese, homemade lemon donuts, specialty sausage, coffee and oj. 

 Dinner or shall I say breakfast was delish. Here's a quick pic snapped with the ol camera phone not high quality thou.

 

 

After removing the stump and just barely sliding through the gate there we're still many obstacles to over come.

As I attempted to slide past the hvac unit I. Had to raise one side in order to clear the drain tube and hvac pad. But on the other side I was rubbing the fence, so with a scrap 2x2 in place the wenching continued.

 here's a pic with the fort almost completely past the hvac and on its way into the middle of the yard.

 and the fort is nearly in place just a few repairs to make, reassemble the swing set portion and a little cleaning (pressure washing) and leveling. Malia is ready for her own personal slide.

Craig's list find........

Well the other day while crushing around on the oll Craig's list I ran across this find a wooden play set, with slide, rope swing, trapeze, swings, fire pole , sand box, two person swing, and built in fort all in one for the deal of  the day $20. Well I course it had to be moved and it was on the other side of Charlotte and was in need of a little repair but it still was very solid .

 so after I went and viewed I decided to give it a shot. After a quick call to brother in law #4 for a little extra muscle out we went with trailer in tow to retrieve . After a little un-assembling, the goal was to move the tower portion as a whole to prevent having to take it apart.  After taking off a section of railing to make the moving a little lighter,which did not fair so well. it was decided if it had to be taken apart if probable wouldnt be able to put back together, Because of the age. Here we used a hand truck to move across the sellers yard which to my surprise went very well. I was sure the axel might bend or the support would break of which neather did.

 And so here it sits In the front yard and with my extra muscle gone it was left up to me to figure out a way to move the monster fort into the mid section of the yard. This is not a light piece of playground equipment and I had a few obsticles I neede to maneuver around. First I had to figure a way to move, this was solved with a hand wench and some fence posts to act as sleds. Next the gate opening was just about an inch larger than the fort but just through the fence was a stump which needed to be removed. The gate needed to be taken off for maximum clearance. And then there was the new hvac unit which the distance between It and the fence was no wider than the gate. It looked like the work had just begun.

Back seat visors?.......

 Well on a recent trip down the highway early in the morning I glanced back to see the sun shining in Malias eyes, she did not seem to care for this so she reached for her back seat sun visor..........what no back seat sun visor? Those people in the front get all the perks. So she improvised, we were in a little stop -en -go traffic when daddy Dave snapped this pick.

Drywall boo boo .....

 

 Here is a pic of some of the drywall work which has been going on at the rental. In this pick you may not notice the drywall boo boo of topic.

 if you take a closer look at the light switches you can clearly see that I cut the light switch holes about a inch off. One of the joys of drywall is this is nothing a little mudding won't fix. When fixed no one will ever know but you and me.

 here is a pic of the new laundry room drywalled up down the hallway, I installed a new light so that laundry doers with be able to see what's going on.

Chicken roll.......

 

 Well the other evening I took a break from the rental work and did some stuff around the house, when it came time for dinner me and momma mandy tag teamed it. Momma put me in charge of the chicken...I warned her and she said she wouldn't say a word. So I grabbed an assortment of condiments from the fridge. Italian parsley, spicy mustard, dill relish, banana pepper rings, diced onions and capers. As I look over my shoulder to see her reaction, her face was plain with no visual  sign of worrie on her brow, well time to put it together. So I took the chicken breast split it leaving it attached on the end creating a long strip. Next came out the rolling pen to act as a tender- riser. Momma mandy did enterject at this point but only too point out that I might want to cover the chicken with a piece of wax paper, to help prevent splatter(her advise was taken). So after thinning out the chicken I spread the mixture on the chicken and rolled it up tacking it closed with tooth picks.

 here we are in the oven and ready to bake....with a little olive oil in the dish.

 at last it's done and ready to enjoy......it was delish. As a side momma mandy had made up some tasty potatoe salad. Daddy Dave took left overs for lunch the next day.
