Duck tape use #558.........

The other afternoon daddy Dave was backing up and brushed his driver side mirror on a bush this knocked it backwards which would typical not be a big deal being they are made to take this abuse to prevent further expensive damage. But in this particular case it broke.............after a bit of explicit language, time was of the essence so a bit of duck tape was added to hold it in place until further action could be taken.

The next day daddy Dave had a bit of spare time to take a closer look at the root of the problem. It seemed that the locking washer atop of the spring had popped off causing the mirror the move freely.

So after compressing the spring with a c-clamp and tapping the washer back into place, daddy Dave seemed to be back in business. Wait............that was too easy...............

Yep it was too easy and everything went off without a hitch............until daddy Dave tried to reattach the mirror. Snap.......crack.....capooey .........eBay here I come. With a replacement mirror on the way, I now know the proper way to reinstall the side mirror(press in the middle not the edges)
