which would you say is more likely to cause a leak in your home, a bowl, cup or dish? if you said a bowl- not in this case but you could use it to help catch the leaking water........... cup- no not in this case either but you could also use it to drink a delicious beverage while you watch the bowl catch the drip........if you guessed dish you would be right, in the case a improperly installed dish network TV dish(satellite dish). the rental had two installed on the roof. the other evening while showing the house to the now lease signed tenants. the father pointed at the ceiling at a water mark and asked in broken English if there was a leak, and to my knowledge i answered no, just needed a little paint. well while out at the rental Friday, finishing up a couple last min cleaning and paint, inside out of the rain, i looked at the spot only to see water drips forming. under closer inspection i found the above pic(leaky roof) in the attic. this was caused by just screwing the satellite dish directly to the roof. as soon as the weather permits, up on to the roof ill go with a bucket of roof tar and a smile. at least it should be a easy fix, knock on wood. best to catch it now than to have it leak on the new tenants.
