Mower mods.......

In the past when I picked up one of my mowers the ex owner asked me if I wanted the old velkie (a device in which you can ride behind the mower on). It was in bad shape the feet stirrups were ground down from exsesive use and the tire was flat. Theses apparatuses sell used $200+ and daddy Dave thought he might be able to fix and use in the future. Well the future was now and daddy Dave had a spare moment so the modifications began. First daddy Dave found some scrap metal brackets and re-bent them into the shape needed(with help of hand sledge).

The brackets were then secured with bolts and locknuts......here's a pic of them installed not the prettiest but it will do the trick.

next was attention was turned to the tire, it being completely flat and the tire beads were broken. This made refilling the tire impossible being the air would just escape. So daddy Dave used a trick one of his redneck buddies had told him in the past. I took a tie down strap and ratcheted the center of the tire so that the sides pushed out creating a seal. I then hooked up the tire pump and the tire blew right up, nice. Just as a foot note the same redneck had told me another trick to do this but it involved flammable material and a match which would cause an explosion pushing out the sides of the tire creating a seal. I choose the Other method not being scared.........but being careful.

And here is the finished product put back together and taken for a test drive............zoooooooooom

ziiiiiippppppppppppppppppppp............
